Cătălin Negru, Florin Pop - Working On Big Data Datasets
Catalin works as a Researcher at the Research Infrastructure for Product Development, Intelligent Innovative Processes and Services (PRECIS) within the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers at the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB). He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science at UPB, Computers Science Department. His main research interests are: Big Data, Edge Computing, Resource management and Energy efficiency.
Florin is a professor at Politehnica Bucharest, where he received his PhD in Computer Science in 2008. His main research interests are onlarge scale distributed systems concerning scheduling and resource management, adaptive methods, multi-criteria optimization methods, Grid middleware tools and applications development, prediction methods, self-organizing systems, data retrieval and ranking techniques, contextualized services in distributed systems, evaluation using modeling and simulation. Florin was awarded with two Prizes for Excellence from IBM and Oracle, five Best Paper Award and one IBM Faculty Award. He is involved in many national projects and international research projects,is active reviewerof articlesandEditor for several journals, and is IEEE Senior Member and ACM Member. Florin is a senior researcher at the Romanian National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics.
